Coruscant- Calling The Slayer (Lancer) Empty

((Character: Atrum Ingenium & Galven Lund))

This is going to be very short because its entire purpose is to get Slayer to talk to Atrum Razz))

"Criminal activities on Coruscant hit an all time low the moment Slayer began following Redack's orders." A man was telling Atrum. Though this man was in fact very important. This man was the new Emperor of the Wayland Empire. Galven Lund was his name and he wore ceremonial green robes with a gold trim. "The plan of course was never to keep the criminals at bay. Redack had an interesting plan in mind for them, unfortunately it never came to pass because the Sith didn't defend Coruscant as we had though they would."

"Right. So we need Slayer for what exactly?" Atrum asked.

"He still has a contract with us. All that's different is we no longer have an enemy, at least not one we consider an enemy... All we have is a force that we need to slow down the progress of. Jacen realises this. I'm surprised you don't." Galven Lund stated. "Of course Jacen also realised that his desire for power corrupted his ability to do what is right, which is why I am in charge for the time being."

"Just remember, I serve the Empire... Not its ruler." Atrum stated. It had always been true in a sense, the only problem had been in the past the Ruler had been the Empire... No longer, Jacen was committed to fixing the Wayland Empire- so much so that he'd given it to a new Emperor. Galven Lund had been elected by the people of the Wayland Empire.

"Yes, yes." Galven Lund replied. he then stepped towards a comm system and tuned it into a frequency they knew Slayer used. "Slayer, the Wayland Empire has more business for you. If you are interested then meet us in the Supreme Chancellors office of the senate building." (Because it does belong to the Wayland Empire, I've already mentioned that in a previous post).

((So yea, they're in the supreme chancellors office in the senate building waiting for Slayer... Anyone else that really wants to join can, but its mainly for Slayer))

((Character in play: The Slayer))

The comlink would remain silent for a few minutes, and then would respond with a single affirming click.

On the other end of the line, the creature known as the Slayer parted his mouth in a grimace, then slid his hood back over his head and arose from his seat in his skyhook's inner sanctum. He had just arrived back on Coruscant after his brief foray into the affairs of the Sith, during which he had taken on perhaps his biggest bounty yet, which he had carried out handily. Unfortunately for Redack, that bounty had opened the way for the takeover of the galaxy by the Sith, which probably diverted a few of the Clawdite's carefully crafted plans. Slayer chuckled. The Sith hadn't proved to be much of an obstacle, had they? Not that he cared...his work with them had been a conditional agreement only. He had held up his end of the bargain--it wasn't his fault that they had dropped the ball in terms of controlling the galaxy. From his last mission, he had headed back to his stomping grounds at Corellia, where he had taken care of a few minor jobs, but mostly relaxed and awaited his next big assignment.

His control of the underworld, under his assumed identity as the planet's "Dark Knight," was such that he could afford to take a week off the planet without anything so much as slipping in his setup here, but that wouldn't remain indefinitely, especially with the pivotal changes that were occurring around the capital world. And so he had returned, refreshed and ready to continue his work here. It entertained him, truthfully, but occasionally he found it to be like watching over a lot of little kids--those who had formerly ruled the underground were constantly pushing the boundaries of what they could and couldn't do, and he had to be around to keep them alive. Fortunately, that was something he was very good at.

Moving from his inner sanctum, he found his lieutenants Vické and Blancna in the weapons room, as usual. They looked up at him, and he gave them a motion of his head. "We have an appointment with the Emperor."

*****

"Well, well, well...Redack is as bold as ever, isn't he? Declaring a new Emperor right under the nose of the new Jedi Council...interesting that they haven't yet intervened." Slayer had come seemingly out of nowhere, making his way past security without sounding the alarm as was his custom, and finding his way to the Chancellor's office. He glanced around, his glowing eyes narrowing in interest as he took in the office. So...this had been the working space of the man he had recently killed. It was always interesting to him to catch a glimpse into the lives of his victims. It made the job that much more satisfying.

He noted that Redack was not present, but speaking to his sycophant and son, Atrum Ingenium, was practically the equivalent of speaking to the man himself. The other man he recognized from the election coverage as Galven Lund, the new leader of the Wayland Empire. He had to chuckle at Redack's audacity--he had heard of the alliance between him and the Jedi, but while he was not present at the actual meeting, no one knew better than Slayer how to spot Redack's schemes, even if he couldn't be completely sure of what it was exactly. He was obviously playing the Jedi for fools towards his own ends--what those ends were, Slayer wasn't positive, but he suspected they were moving towards the same end as Redack's goals usually were...increasing Redack's power. Redack had tipped his hand in declaring a new Emperor and installing him in the former headquarters of the Republic, but, curiously, the Jedi had made no moves against him. If the Jedi couldn't see through Redack's tricks by now, they were fools...and that would only make their eventual fall more entertaining.

PostSubject: Re: Coruscant- Calling The Slayer (Lancer)   Coruscant- Calling The Slayer (Lancer) Icon_minitimeTue Feb 24, 2009 12:55 am

"Technically the declaration of a new Emperor is an internal affair of the Wayland Empire... The Jedi wouldn't be able to do anything about it even if they wanted, they have no actual authority within the Empire itself." Galven stated. He wasn't entirely surprised at how Slayer had appeared from nowhere, he'd seen Redack and Jacen do some amazing things. So the fact that a bounty hunter was capable of sneaking up on someone was I no way a shock. Galven placed a small device on the room's desk, it quickly activated itself a let out a faint humming sound. "A small EM device, it'll keep any spying devices offline until we finish our conversation... Now. We need you to do something for us."

"I gathered that," Slayer said evenly. One thing he had noticed in his years of working as a bounty hunter, and, even longer ago, an assassin, was that many of the people who tended to hire bounty hunters liked to add an unnecessary drama to their statements, as though there was a camera following them around recording their every move. Perhaps it was a little more understandable with a public figure such as Lund, and he'd grown to tolerate it over the years. Still, sometimes he wished they would just cut to the chase...literally. Still, those same types of people also tended to pay better than most, so he'd allow them their little speeches if it meant an interesting hunt and a fat paycheck at the end.

PostSubject: Re: Coruscant- Calling The Slayer (Lancer)   Coruscant- Calling The Slayer (Lancer) Icon_minitimeTue Feb 24, 2009 9:56 am

Galven walked over to a holoprojector and activated it. It began projecting a 3D representation of the entire Galaxy with each star system coloured appropriately to represent who controlled what region. This was probably the most complete map of the Galaxy to exist, the Wayland Empire had gone to extreme lengths to gain almost every map it could and then had even taken control of the Chiss Ascendancy- giving them a map of the unknown regions. This added to anything the Vong had learned in their time invading the Galaxy and then added to the Wayland Empire's collection and you had the entire Galaxy in one nice map. And of course, as was to be expected the Wayland Empire's territories massed a lot of the Galaxy- including the vast majority of the unknown regions. These were marked in green, Sith territories were red, Jedi territories were cyan and the various other empires and organizations were marked in colours that the Wayland Empire felt appropriate for them.

"As we can clearly see, the Wayland Empire controls a large amount of this Galaxy. however it is not the Galaxy we are currently concerned about." Emperor Lund pressed a button on the holoprojector and it began zooming into Coruscant, sector by sector, star system by star system until eventually the entire holo-image was of Coruscant itself- represented in the same green colour that the Wayland Empire had been in the galaxy wide map. "Its not home, but it is important to the plans laid down by Jacen Valor."

"We want you to get your criminals to attack Jedi positions on Coruscant." Atrum said, getting right to the point. Atrum cared little for words, perhaps it was a result of him being half nanite & half living cell. He found it so much easier to simply directly interface with something or someone and communicate that way. So much faster than speaking words.

"And we know that you control them, because crime rates on Coruscant have been almost none existent." Galven stated, retaking control of the conversation from Atrum. He had noted that Atrum was almost the exact opposite to his dad- there were so few similarities. In fact it could be said Galven was a lot more like Redack and Jacen than Atrum was. "We're willing to pay a grand total of one billion million (1,000,000,000) credits if you successfully achieve the task of keep the Jedi too busy with you that they are less busy looking for faults with us... It may seem like a highly excessive amount of credits, but it is simply that important to us."

PostSubject: Re: Coruscant- Calling The Slayer (Lancer)   Coruscant- Calling The Slayer (Lancer) Icon_minitimeTue Feb 24, 2009 10:35 am

Slayer's eyes remained in their neutral, almost bored narrow position for most of the presentation, but when Lund mentioned the fee they were willing to pay, he couldn't help but allow a flicker of surprise to enter his glowing eyes. 1 billion credits, for a simple task like keeping the Jedi occupied? What was Redack planning, that he needed the Jedi out of the way so badly? He doubted he'd receive an explanation, nor did he really need one...he'd be in a prime position to watch as the Wayland Empire's plot moved into place, and he was patient enough to wait for the fireworks to begin. Still, the fact that Redack was willing to offer so much--though he could certainly afford it--intrigued Slayer, and he wondered what the former Sith Lord had in store for the Jedi.

Whatever it was, they weren't going to like it. Slayer chuckled inwardly, though outwardly he remained as noncommittal as usual.

"1 billion credits, huh...consider it done. Anything else?" Slayer expected this to be a fairly simple task, on the level of killing the Supreme Chancellor, but it had potential for a lot of mayhem and all-around entertainment. Slayer had had a brief stint as a terrorist, and while those days were long gone, he figured he could pick up the mantle once again. Criminals were less easy to control when they were asked to risk their lives, but with a certain combination of fear and Force mind tricks, he would bend them to his will and use them like a weapon against the Jedi.

"Surprisingly yes." Galven replied. He pressed another button on the holoprojector and watched it zoom back out to its galactic view. Maybe he just wanted to show that the Wayland Empire had possibly the best Galactic Map but it was kinda cool to watch as it zoomed out through the star systems and eventually to show the entire galaxy. "We need to contact that assassin you mentioned to Redack. He has an important role to play and we cannot risk giving the Jedi the wrong impression by contacting him directly. So we need you to bring him to us, however you see fit... However your other mission is of great importance, so this should not take priority."

Ah, yes. The assassin that Slayer had met with a while back, when he had just arrived on Coruscant on his first job for Redack. He had thought to be done with that business when the assassin had called the meeting with the Sith on Vykos--after all, he had met with the Sith then, and had no further need for Slayer's services. It seemed the two of them were destined to cross paths again, which was a meeting that Slayer anticipated. He didn't know the other very well, but he had sensed that their paths had been very similar, and while he doubted they would become anything close to friends, he knew they were kindred spirits. "And what, pray tell, would be the reimbursement for this task?"

((I'll make this short so we can get this RP out of the way faster Razz))

"One thousand (1,000) Credits... All we're asking you to do is find him and get him to meet with us, so I feel that's a fair sum." Galven stated.

"Very well. I will have it done." Slayer gave a quick nod to the other two, then turned and slipped out of the office, quickly becoming lost to view in the crowd outside.
