PostSubject: Jedi Master Lancer Onasi   Jedi Master Lancer Onasi Icon_minitimeSat Nov 08, 2008 1:49 am

Name: Lancer Onasi

Master: Sucasa

Rank: Jedi Master

Class: Sentinal

Age: 40

Ship: Alderaanian War Cruiser Enforcer

Weaponry: One Blue-White Bladed lightsaber (https://2img.net/h/i78.photobucket.com/albums/j118/LittleRower/Saber/BlueWhite.gif), one Red-Orange Bladed Lightsaber (https://2img.net/h/i78.photobucket.com/albums/j118/LittleRower/Saber/RedOrange-1.gif) and an antiquated (but still usable), bullet-using revolver.

Appearance: A slender Kel Dor 5' 9" in height, he wears Jedi robes, usually with the hood up, and these range in color from black to brown to grey to white. Because his physiology is geared towards the atmosphere on Dorin, the Kel Dor homeworld, he covers his mouth and silver eyes with a gas mask and goggles whenever he is in an atmosphere other than the one on Dorin. His lightsabers can be seen dangling from his belt.

Skills: Lancer has a number of skills he picked up while a fugitive from the Empire. He became quite skilled with disguises and being stealthy, along with blockade-running and forgery. He also is good at masking his presence in the Force, making it hard for others to sense him. In short, if you are on the run from someone and need a Jedi’s protection, Lancer is the ideal.

History:

The First Epoch (Before Jedi/Sith)

Lancer lived on Alderaan with two brothers who died when the planet was destroyed, and he and his father barely escaped because his father had a vision (his mother was working with the Rebellion). Later, a few weeks before the Battle of Hoth, they were tractored in by the newly completed Super class Star Destroyer Executer, which had the Emperor aboard. While they were being tractored in, Lancer's father had another horrible vision, so he told Lancer about the Force and that both Lancer's father and his mother had been Jedi Masters. When they were aboard the Executer, Lancer's father's vision came true, and Lancer was forced to watch as the Emperor personally executed his father. Before his father was dead, Lancer remembered what his father had told him about the Force, but the only example he had for using the Force was the Emperor. He drew on his anger as the Emperor was doing and sent out a powerful burst of Force Lightning out, killing his guards. The Emperor was too busy finishing Lancer's father off to do anything about it, so Lancer escaped in a Lambda class shuttle. He was hunted by the Empire for a year, and on Duro they planted a tracer on his ship. Lancer unwittingly led the Imperials to his mother, who was shot down on Tatooine (her body and ship were never recovered) and Lancer spent the next two years searching for her. His hatred increased and he became discouraged, but he was counseled by a Jedi Master on Dagobah. He then got a new identity and went to Coruscant.

The Second Epoch (Lancer becomes a Jedi)

Lancer spent several years on Coruscant, during which the Empire was brought down and a New Jedi Order established. He was trained by the Jedi Knight Sucasa, and lived on Taris for a while. During this time, Lancer traveled around the galaxy and somehow managed to become the target of three Sith: Sith Knights Redack, Askirlian, and Malas, with whom he had a number of battles. Malas, in particular, continued to harass Lancer for some time. Lancer also made many friends among the Jedi Order and even among the Sith, including the Jedi Apprentices Mae Sakura and Cowzman, the Jedi Knights Kilgon and Gurthok, the Jedi Master K1ddy, and the Sith Knight Androx. After a short while, he was given a great opportunity by Jedi Master Axem Steel, who offered him the position of second-in-command of the New Jedi Republic. Lancer worked hard for the NJR, recruiting two major planets, Bilbringi and Dorin, his homeworld.

Unfortunately, at what seemed to be the prime of his life, with a prestigious post at the NJR, the rapidly increasing push for his promotion to Jedi Master, and his rising fame and popularity, Lancer was revisited by the ghost of the old Emperor Palpatine. Though he survived the ordeal, he was greatly weakened and easy pickings for Darth Sicarious, better known as Malas, then a Sith Knight who would eventually rise to the position of Darklord and who could have defeated Lancer even if Lancer had been fresh. Sicarious left Lancer for dead, and for a month he lay comatose in the then-inactive temple at Yavin IV, as the rest of the galaxy presumed him dead. Fortunately, the Force revived Lancer, and he returned stronger than before.

Very soon afterwards, Lancer was elected to a position on the Jedi Council and given the rank of Jedi Master after he had been an active Knight less than three weeks (at that point the fastest ascent ever, though it has since been surpassed). In the following weeks, Lancer lost and regained his status as a Jedi Council Member multiple times, as continuing discontent among the Jedi called for new leadership. Lancer, however, never really cared too much about this, considering it his duty to serve as a Council Member if elected, but not aspiring for the office. Lancer was on the Council when the Jedi Order finally stabilized, and remained a member for some time. During this time, he also trained two Padawans fully, Neskital and Ferus Olin, and he trained many others to various extents. He also made more friends among the Jedi, most notably the controversial Jedi Master Bowen Darvelle, better known as Bandit.

Lancer engaged in a number of conflicts with Sith during his time as a Jedi Master, defeating several Sith and evil neutral Force-users, though he allowed most to live. One exception was Darth Spectar, who had declared Lancer his target during the Jedi Purge that then-Darklord Kira declared and who Lancer handily defeated in the streets of Coruscant. Lancer, however, soon became weary of the constant surges of the Sith and of bickering amongst the Jedi Council, and retired from public life, vanishing into the wilderness of Yavin IV.

This was not the end of Lancer’s story, however, for he was yet young at the age of 29. Feeling nostalgic for his days as a Jedi and starved for contact with other sentient beings, he reemerged from his long meditation in the jungles of Yavin IV, and there confronted and defeated two Sith in the Yavin IV Temple. He returned to the Jedi Training Tower in Coruscant, and, finding that seemingly deserted, headed for Taris, but before he could make contact with the Jedi, he got sidetracked. On the planet of Abregado-Rae, Lancer saved the life of a detective, Detective Rylan, and quickly befriended him. Rylan told him about the leap in crime levels with the ascension of a new and cunning crime lord. Lancer vowed to help his new friend to stop the mounting crime wave, and for the next two years he stayed out of contact with the Jedi Order on the world of Abregado-Rae.

The Third Epoch (Lancer returns to the Jedi Order)

Lancer was happy on Abregado-Rae, and after they brought down the crime lord, he stayed on the planet for some time, and for a while he thought he would reside there for the rest of his days. But the Force was not yet done with him; at the age of 31, he was still young and could be a force to be reckoned with in the perpetual war between the Jedi and the Sith. One day, he felt the Force stirring in his heart, and Rylan urged him to return to the Jedi Order, saying that the Jedi probably needed him. Lancer saw the wisdom of this and made his preparations to return to the Jedi Order.

Upon returning, he found the Jedi Order in a much different state than when he had left. Jedi Masters such as K1ddy, Gurthok, Rhia, and Bandit had all but vanished, and in their place was a new generation of Jedi including Masters Ket Jia, Desra Lodet, Zalthrax Anakor, and Ridifu Omego; the latter Lancer found stranded on Korriban after killing the Dark Lord Septimus, just days after Lancer’s return. Additionally, Lancer had completely missed the surge of the Dark Jedi, the second reign of Darth Sicarious, and the Catalyst uprising. The Sith seemed to be in total disarray, without even a Dark Lord, and the Jedi were strong. This greatly confused Lancer, as he wondered why he had felt such an urgent need to return when the Jedi were not even in danger. Yet, under the surface, tensions were brewing, and, unbeknownst to the Jedi, the Sith were on the move…

Despite the lack of any visible threat, Lancer decided to stay with the Jedi Order and soon took on two Padawans, Xeomas Crestrider and Talon Rann. Xeomas had been a Jedi who had fallen and was only now returning to the light, and Lancer finished his training rather quickly. Talon was a fast learner, but, unlike Xeomas, he was starting from scratch and so took longer.

During this time, due to inactivity of key members of the Jedi Council, the Jedi decided to hold a vote for the new Jedi Council. The Council selected consisted of Zalthrax, Ridifu, and Ket Jia, but when Ket Jia made the announcement at the Telos Jedi Enclave, he was attacked and killed by two Yuuzhan Vong, one of which was disguised as a Jedi Knight. This left an open seat upon the Jedi Council, and with no other viable candidates, Lancer was duty-bound to accept the seat when it was offered to him.

The three Jedi Masters led the Order for some time, and the Yuuzhan Vong threat subsided as quickly as it had appeared. It appeared peace had returned to the galaxy, and Lancer resumed training of Talon. But, soon after that, the Jedi Council made a large mistake; Lancer, to his shame, reluctantly went along with it and made it a unanimous decision. They made a plan to demote all Jedi Masters not on the Council, and this sparked an immediate uprising within the Jedi Order. Jedi Masters such as recently returned Sora Onasi, Kensh Yowes, and Helius Tak spoke out against the Council, and the Jedi Order existed in a state of turmoil. Helius went so far as to blockade Coruscant.

Lancer watched all of this with increasing dismay. Finally, worried by what he had seen, he made a hasty decision, spurred on by visions of the Jedi Order first splitting up, and then facing destruction. Without consulting the other council members, he made a public announcement calling for the opinion of all Jedi possible. Ridifu and Zalthrax championed letting the current decision stand and banishing Helius from the Jedi Order, but the majority of Jedi who spoke that day, including Lancer’s own Padawan, favored demoting all of the Masters and starting with new Masters and new Council members. With most Jedi supporting it, Lancer made a bold move; he stepped down from his position as a Jedi Councilor and demoted himself to Jedi Knight, putting pressure on Ridifu and Zalthrax to do something similar.

As it turned out, this move earned Lancer the gratitude and loyalty of many within the Jedi Order, and many still believed this to be the wise thing to do. But in hindsight, Lancer saw it differently. Acting in haste to prevent his visions, he actually exacerbated them. For, disgruntled by the course the other Jedi had taken, Ridifu and Zalthrax led four other Jedi in seceding from the Jedi Order to form the Contemporary Jedi Order. Lancer immediately responded to their announcement with a speech calling for unity and reconciliation, but his message was ignored, and his dark visions continued and increased. Out of that last speech came the phrase by which the Contemporary Jedi Order became known: the Jedi Separatists, a term Lancer himself coined.

Lancer now had to run the next Council votes by himself, and he announced that he would not stand for re-election to the Jedi Council. The new Jedi Council consisted of Kensh Yowes, Ket Jia, and Sora Onasi. During this time Lancer grew close to Sora Onasi, their relationship at one point almost reaching the point of romance. But in the end Lancer ended up being more of a brotherly/fatherly figure to Sora, and while at one point he had contemplated exiling himself because of his visions, he stayed because Sora was having some personal troubles including alcoholism. During this time he also completed the training of Talon Rann, and made him a Knight of the Jedi Order.

As the Separatists and the Jedi Order competed for the loyalty of the Jedi and were thus divided, the Sith made their move. Key players such as Apocalyptica, Demona, Shiao, Redack, Evil_Jedi, and, most dangerously, Palîn, the daughter of the legendary Dark Lord Kira, returned from their absences, and Palîn declared herself the Dark Lord of the Sith. Redack and Apocalyptica used their fleets to setup for the Sith return, and Lancer heard rumblings of a possible attack. With Sora Onasi on temporary leave, Lancer was filling in for her on the Jedi Council, and was contacted by an anonymous donor, one who gave him a recording of a recent Sith meeting in which they laid out their plans to attack the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Despite not having a perfect knowledge of the Jedi Temple (it had been rebuilt since Lancer’s time, and only Zalthrax and Ridifu knew all of the defenses), Lancer prepared for the attack, hoping to counterambush the Sith when they arrived.

Unfortunately he hadn’t reckoned on there being a traitor within the Jedi Order. Jedi Knight Yuna Tribal cut the power to the Jedi Temple, including the Jedi lightsabers, by exploding one of Helius Tak’s ion bombs within the temple. With his plans ruined and the Jedi outnumbered and overmatched, Lancer knew that this could be his last fight. He faced off alone against former Dark Lord Septimus and Palîn’s apprentice Jerex Ak’Chazar, but their battle never reached a conclusion as Yuna destroyed the base of the temple, causing it to collapse. Lancer was knocked unconscious and nearly killed, and the temple was destroyed; a true victory for the Sith and the fulfillment of Lancer’s visions.

Lancer was found unconscious by Richter Belmont, a Padawan, and carried to safety. There, they planned a counterattack against the Sith, but their plans were interrupted when Atrum fired a chaos ray into the planet of Coruscant, causing the inhabitants to go mad and kill each other. The two Jedi escaped the planet along with one individual who had somehow managed to overcome the effects of the ray.

They came to Dantooine, where Lancer encountered Sora Onasi once again, this time suffering under the effects of using a forbidden Force technique. He revives her with the help of Richter and helps her to her room. The next day, Lancer’s former Padawan Talon Rann and his Padawan Hal Kalais was nearly turned to the Dark Side by Apocalyptica and started a fight with the Jedi Separatists, but Lancer managed to turn them back to the light, again with the help of Richter Belmont. Impressed by the Padawan's accomplishments, Lancer granted him the rank of Jedi Knight. It was soon after this that Lancer vanished from the Jedi Order, but first he participated in one more important task: the reunion of the Jedi Order and the Jedi Separatists.

As the Jedi Order had reformed and the Sith alliance appeared to be broken up (though the component parts were still very strong), things appeared to be looking up for the Jedi…and then Lancer vanished without a trace. He has yet to be seen to this day, nine years later, and many have assumed he died. But some still maintain that he is out there, somewhere, and that he will yet return to the Jedi Order.
