Playing with New Toys (Lok)

~Helius had recently returned from his meeting with Atrum, and had began researching what his new toy could do...by the end of the next week, Helius hoped to have several designs in work to cause the distraction that Redack/Atrum required.~

~A scientist walked into the room carrying a datapad with some of the prototypes. Helius had been gone the previous week doing other things and had shortly just returned.~

"What do you have for me?"
"Well, we were able to create and modify the technology that was given to us. We have several in final stages. As you know all of our research facilities have been working around the clock on all of our planets."
"Get on with it or you will find that you will no longer work around the clock."

~The scientist fidgeted a bit.~

"We have come up with that technology of beaming our armies in case of an emergency; however, we also did the reverse of it. Several of the experiments on this level caused some mutations and quick deaths for the subject; however, my liege, we have stabilized this and have a fully operational prototype in production."
"Very good, and what next?"
"We have a gate."
"Gate? I don't pay you to make fences to keep things out."

~The scientist chose his words carefully.~

"Its a space gate. It can transport things from one area to the next. For example, a single starship from Lok to Naboo in a matter of an instance. Though we have ran into some problems with this...it seems that the more complex an object it is, the more probable it is to have problems with reassembling. Though at this point in time, that is what are simulations say. We haven't really tested this out in real life. We were awaiting authorization from you."
"Authorization granted, but don't ever ask me again. Just do it."
"Right, sir. We also modifying our tractor beams with this technology. Its a two step process we are now experimenting with. For a ship to be in a tractor beam, it has to be inside a perimeter to whatever has the beam. Well, we have taken this a step further. Once trapped inside of the beam, a ship or projectile able to place an interspacial beacon is sent. The beacon is placed upon the subject and is beamed to the ships' hull or planet side."
"Brilliant, keep this moving forward and put into production anything that is in working order...begin experimentation on human subjects on a grand scale."
"Yes, sir."

~The scientist walked out, and Helius went back to thinking.~
